Water leak inside wall
It was one of those mornings when my wife wakes me up with the garage floor is flooded. So I get up and start to look at what happen
She pulled her car out of the garage and we began the cleanup http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8212/8...13f3e1d6b2.jpg I started looking for where the water was coming from and saw water dripping out of the wall below the water feed to the house. I grabbed my drywall saw and began tearing out drywall and found the leak. It was the copper to plastic connection. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8351/8...56ffa025f1.jpg I called in a plumbing contractor that cut the old pipe out of the wall and then we saw what happen to the leaky pipe. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8503/8...78b8685ec4.jpg The Plumbing contractor installed a fitting called a Shark-bite. This has fixed the water leak http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8494/8...b37c6b7b83.jpg Water leak is fixed. :rockin: I did not have a picture of when I pulled out the wet Insulation from the wall and I found a carpenter ants nest inside the wall. I moved very quickly with bug juice with what looked to be a millions of them crawling out of the wall. Carpenter ants like wood and water so I was glad to get the leak fixed I will make a plywood patch to cover the hole after I re-insulate the wall. My Wife has put things in perspective with. The inside of the house is dry:thumbs_up: Here is info on Shark-Bite fitting to make repairs http://www.sharkbiteplumbing.com/ |
