Win7 setting for fast SSD

http://www.ab9il.net/windows-tips/wi...ssd-setup.html

Does Corsair provide firmware updates for SSDs?

You will find download links and firmware update instructions posted in our forum. Not all drives will have a firmware update and in most cases your drive should have the latest firmware available at the time of production.

Do I need to tweak my operating system to get my Corsair SSD drive to run at optimal performance?

No settings within your operating system need to be adjusted for a Corsair SSD drive to run at optimal performance.

Will I get the full benefit of having a Corsair SSD drive installed on my machine if it only supports SATA I?

The SATA I spec is slower than most Corsair SSD drives. You would get the best performance from a Corsair SSD drive from a system with SATA II.
Are Corsair SSD drives compatible with SATA I?

All Corsair SSD drives are compatible with both SATA I and SATA II. However, you will only be able to acheive the rated transfer speeds when using the SATA interface that the SSD is designed for.

What settings do I need to adjust in my system BIOS for optimal SSD performance?

Enabling AHCI storage mode in your BIOS is the only setting we recommend adjusting for optimal SSD performance.
What is TRIM?

The TRIM command is a feature of Windows 7 which allows an SSD to maintain its high level of performance over the lifetime of the drive. Here is a link which describes TRIM in more detail:

What about services or programs in my operating system such as indexing, pre-fetching, write-caching, defrag etc?

Corsair SSDs require no maintenance programs or operating system tweaks.
What programs can Corsair recommend to test the performance of my Corsair SSD?

AIDA64, ATTO, CrystalDiskMark, HDTune and SiSoft Sandra and are all very good benchmarks of your SSD performance. However, all Corsair SSD specifications are published based on ATTO performance.
