USB removal on Vista and Win7 PC does not shut off power to USB device.
When you put a USB in the PC it lights up. when you go to remove the USB is when the issue begins. USB fix that I have tested on 4 ea. Win7 PC and it works just like XP and shut off the USB device. Note to many shocks on USB device and they will fail and you will loose all data. (I have lost 2 USB from Win 7) USB fix Here are the steps to enable powering off USB port after it has been safely removed. 1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK. 2. Locate and then click the following subkey in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\usbhub If you see hubg ( then skip steps 3 and 4 and click on hubg move to step 5)3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Key. 4. Type HubG for the name of the new key, and then press ENTER. 5. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD (32-bit) Value. <<<< Works for 32 and 64 bit Win7 6. Type DisableOnSoftRemove for the name of the DWORD Value, and then press ENTER. 7. Right-click DisableOnSoftRemove, and then click Modify. 8. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK. 9. Exit Registry Editor and restart your computer for the change to take effect. I have tested this on a Win7 Pro 64 bit PC and it works.

Microsoft trying to put tracking in WIn7 and Win8 to be like Win10
Here is how to keep your privacy for what you PAID for. KB3068708 Update for customer experience and diagnostic telemetry – This update introduces the Diagnostics and Telemetry tracking service to existing devices. By applying this service, you can add benefits from the latest version of Windows to systems that have not yet upgraded. The update also supports applications that are subscribed to Visual Studio Application Insights. (Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1), and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1) KB3022345 (replaced by KB3068708) Update for customer experience and diagnostic telemetry – This update introduces the Diagnostics and Telemetry tracking service to in-market devices. By applying this service, you can add benefits from the latest version of Windows to systems that have not yet been upgraded. The update also supports applications that are subscribed to Visual Studio Application Insights. (Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1), and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1) KB3075249 Update that adds telemetry points to consent.exe in Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 – This update adds telemetry points to the User Account Control (UAC) feature to collect information on elevations that come from low integrity levels. (Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1), and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1) KB3080149 Update for customer experience and diagnostic telemetry – This package updates the Diagnostics and Telemetry tracking service to existing devices. This service provides benefits from the latest version of Windows to systems that have not yet upgraded. The update also supports applications that are subscribed to Visual Studio Application Insights. (Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1), and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1) KB3083324 Uncheck this update and hide Furthermore gHacks notes that ” these four updates ignore existing user preferences stored in Windows 7 and Windows 8 (including any edits made to the Hosts file) and immediately starts exchanging user data with vortex-win.data.microsoft.com and settings-win.data.microsoft.com.

Once again Microsoft trying to push Win10 on my Win7 Pro 64 PC
KB3035583 <<< Do not install and right click and HIDE. Win 10 there's a new telemetry system called "Asimov" which can be used to monitor the usage of any Windows 10 computer in real time, and if you agree to use Windows 10, you agree to let Microsoft monitor your computer at any time, for any reason, and to share any data they gather with their trusted partners. And no, you don't get to know who those partners are. They might even let law enforcement have access to what you're doing in real time. That might include access to your webcam.

1. KB 2952664- a secret snooping patch first pushed to Windows 7 back in April. Officially described as merely a “compatibility update for upgrading Windows 7″, Infoworld discovered it actually adds a program to the Windows Task Scheduler called ‘DoScheduledTelemetryRun’ which sends usage information to Microsoft even for those who have specifically opted out of the Microsoft Customer Experience Improvement Program (CEIP).
2. KB 2976978 – last issued in June, it is a scanner which sends diagnostics to Microsoft from CEIP participants. But the sneaky bit: if you let it scan it automatically signs you up to the CEIP program, which then gives Microsoft full usage tracking rights over your computer. 3. KB 2977759 – another diagnostic scanner, this one analyses computers to see whether their hardware is compatible for upgrades to Windows 10 and sends the data to Microsoft. Which leads us nicely onto… 4. KB 3035583 – this patch contains the infamous ‘Get Windows 10’ nagware pop-up which anyone who hasn’t upgraded to Windows 10 will likely have disabled by now. Well Microsoft thinks you need reminding, because now it has been reclassified as ‘Important’ and will therefore install automatically. So prepare for those Get Windows 10 pop-ups to start appearing again. Windows 10 Upgrade Pressure Is Excessive In fact these four re-releases come just one month after Microsoft formally admitted it has started automatically downloading the full Windows 10 upgrade (over 3GB) onto all Windows 7 and Windows 8 computers – even for users who specifically stated they do not want to upgrade. “For individuals who have chosen to receive automatic updates through Windows Update, we help upgradable devices get ready for Windows 10 by downloading the files they’ll need if they decide to upgrade,” justified the company in an official statement at the time. Link to show you how to STOP Win10 being installed on your Win 7 PC http://winsupersite.com/windows-10/h...ng-your-system
